Does rosé really have a season? For many of us, rosé means sunshine, long lunches and sitting outside with friends. 😎

But does it really have to disappear when summer does?

We say, absolutely not! 🍷

Think of Minuty: a classic pale Provence rosé, wonderfully crisp, fresh and made for those warm summer days.

But rosé doesn’t stop there. Look at styles such as Sancerre Rosé or Malbec Rosé. Often deeper in colour, with more texture, fruit and complexity, they can be much more substantial wines, and particularly good with food.

These are rosés that can happily move from the garden table to the dinner table as the evenings start to cool. In fact, some of the more serious rosés deserve to be treated much more like a red or white wine than simply a summer refresher.

So as September approaches, we want to know, are you putting your rosé away until next summer, or carrying on regardless? Is Rosé a summer tradition or year-round wine? Let us know your thoughts and preferences in the comments below! 👇

We know, we know…it’s August. We promise we haven’t completely lost the plot. 🎄

We draw the line at Christmas music in August. Christmas wine, however…some things are worth getting organised early for, and the Shenfield Wine Company Annual Christmas Tasting is most definitely one of them! 🍷

An evening of festive bottles, from old favourites to new discoveries, and plenty of opportunities to find something rather special for the Christmas table. And, if previous years are anything to go by, tickets won’t hang around for long…

Tickets are being released VERY soon; if you want to be the first in the know, be sure to sign up to our mailing list now! You can do so at the bottom of our website; the link is in our bio. 👆

We hope to see you there! 👋

With today being National Prosecco Day, we thought it was about time to impart a little big of wine knowledge which we feel is particularly worth knowing... 🥂

If you enjoy a glass of Prosecco (or five!), you will have no doubt heard the terms Brut and Extra Dry. But this is where it can get confusing!

Despite the name, Extra Dry Prosecco is actually sweeter than Brut. Yes, really! Here's a little Shenfield Wine Co. guide to Prosecco:

🥂 Brut: crisper, drier and more refreshing.
🥂 Extra Dry: softer, fruitier and slightly sweeter.

And the easy way to remember it is:
Brut = drier.
Extra Dry = sweeter!

Or you could just save this post for future reference. 😉

It sounds completely backwards…but now you know! 👍 And if all this talk of Prosecco has made you thirsty, you also know where to find us. 😉 Cheers! 🥂

Apparently we need special glasses to view the solar eclipse?! 😎 Pretty sure we've already got the glasses that we need for this evening sorted... 🍷

Cheers!! 🥂

(But seriously folks, don't look at the sun directly - do the whole solar eclipse thing properly and safely with the special glasses or another safe method! And then enjoy a glass of wine afterwards. 😉)
