Last night`s double-header Port tasting was a wonderful way to spend an evening: back-to-back sessions exploring the legendary houses of @taylorsportwine, @croftport and @fonescaport.
Taylor`s Vintage Port was the clear standout. Across both groups, it consistently impressed with its depth and balance, and it was great to see everyone`s reactions as they discovered it for themselves.
Thanks to everyone who came along and made it such an enjoyable night, and of course to @mentzendorff_co for hosting. Good company, good conversation, and some excellent Ports - exactly what we`d hoped for.

What we`re drinking this week: Seghesio Sonoma County Zinfandel. 🍷
On Zinfandel Day, we`re pouring a Californian classic from one of Sonoma`s legendary Zinfandel producers. Five generations of family winemaking go into every glass, and as it`s crafted from over 150 individual vineyard lots across Sonoma County, this Zin represents everything we love about the variety: bright, fruit-forward and food-friendly.
With rich aromas of blackberry, black currant, plum, cherry and baking spices, the wine leads with a lively palate of succulent fruit and supple tannins. Full-bodied and dry, you`ll find flavours of wild berries, mocha, tobacco, leather and exotic spices. 🍷
This Zinfandel loves hearty, rich dishes. Try it with slow-braised short ribs, succulent pork belly, or a luxurious gnocchi. It`s also brilliant with BBQ`d meat, grilled steaks or even a classic cheeseburger! 🍔

They said it couldn’t be done. They said we’d never sell enough to make it work - that it was too ambitious, too grand. But at Shenfield Wine Co, we believe in quality over compromise and in those who can truly appreciate the extraordinary. And with last week’s Gaja Tasting, we proved that passion and prestige will always outshine doubt.
To host a Gaja Tasting is a true privilege; an experience typically reserved for Michelin-starred settings. Bringing the grandeur of Gaja to @ttrshenfield was both an honour and a joy.
Guests were treated to a journey through the breadth and brilliance of Gaja’s range, from the approachable charm of their Tuscan wines to the profound complexity of their Piedmont masterpieces. Thank you to Gaja Family Ambassador Francesca Cioce and James Wilson of @hatchmansfield for making this tasting happen and guiding us through the beautiful wines on the night.
And of course, we have to say a huge thank you to everyone that joined us on the night: you helped make our Gaja tasting not just memorable, but truly unforgettable, and judging by the enthusiasm (and the number of bottles ordered!), it’s safe to say our guests left with more than memories!
