What a fantastic evening at our Heirs to the Hills Northern Italy wine tasting last week! 🍷🇮🇹
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us, and of course to Declan Jones of @brixcl_b for hosting the evening, where we discovered some of the incredible wines that the iconic Piemonte region has to offer.
Two standout favourites of the evening were:
🍷 Rocca Giovanna Barolo: a real showstopper. This wine impressed us with its depth, structure and beautifully layered notes of dark cherry, rose petal, spice and subtle earthy complexity...it`s easy to see why it captured so much attention on the night.
🍷 Diego Rivetti Nebbiolo: wonderfully approachable, this was a real crowd-pleaser. Packed with fresh red berry fruit, floral aromas and gentle tannins, it offered all the charm and character of Nebbiolo in a more accessible, youthful style. Elegant, food-friendly and incredibly drinkable!
The tasting really did prove why Northern Italy is home to some of the world’s most celebrated wines. Want to try some for yourself? Pop in store today to purchase a bottle or two!

Throwing it back to last weekend’s Beat the Wine Bluffers in aid of @snap_charity! 🍷
What a fantastic evening we had! So many people turned out to help us raise money for this brilliant chairty, and hopefully had lots of fun beating our panel of bluffers along the way.
We must say a big thank you to a huge variety of people who all helped with the event in their own way. Firstly, to our panel: Jos, Julia and James - you were all brilliant bluffers! 🍷
To @wingedbootsshenfield, John Brandler of @brandlergalleries, @newhallwines and @missinggatevineyard, we thank you for supporting the event with incredible auction prizes, and to Neil from @silverhandestate for providing the delicious welcome drinks on arrival.

What a way to spend an afternoon! 🍷 We were delighted to have been invited to the @winemerchantmag Top 100 judging day recently.
Alongside other independent wine merchants, we were invited to blind taste test 150 different wines and score them, in order to create a Top 100 league table for The Wine Merchant Magazine.
We were partnered up with another independent wine merchant - Nish is pictured here with Nichola Nichola Roe of @winetherapy_iow - before we then tasted the wines in two sessions, starting with a morning round in which half of the entries were chosen to go through to the next round in the afternoon.
After lunch, all wines were reflighted and retasted, this time with scores and notes, to create this year’s Top 100 and Highly Commended list for the magazine.
The winners will be announced on the opening day of the @london_wine_fair, and we can`t wait to see what comes out on top!
It`s always an honour to have our expertise recognised, and this is an event that we`ve been lucky enough to enjoy a few times now. Thank you to The Wine Merchant Magazine for having us for a very enjoyable - if somewhat boozy! - day.
