This is far more than a standard wine tasting; we’ll be opening a collection of rare, highly sought-after and genuinely top-end Italian wines, from some of the country’s most celebrated estates and regions. With wines such as Barolo, Brunello di Montalcino, Bolgheri Superiore and Amarone on the table, this is an opportunity to taste bottles of real distinction that you would rarely have the chance to experience side by side.
The evening will be hosted by Stefan Neumann, one of the world’s most highly qualified wine professionals. 2006 vs 2026: a lot has changed in the world of wine! 🍷
As we approach our 20th anniversary, we`ve been reflecting on just how much has changed since we first opened our doors in 2006. And quite a lot has happened in two decades! Including...
🍷 Our own wine knowledge has grown enormously! When Nish started the business in 2006, he knew relatively little about wine. It`s been a long journey of discovery, endless questions and tasting an insane amount of wine!
🍷 Our tastes have become more adventurous. The classics are still going strong, but there`s a growing appetite for lesser-known grapes, regions and styles.
🍷 We`re drinking differently. There`s more interest in drinking less but better, choosing quality over quantity and exploring low- and no-alcohol alternatives.
🍷 English wine has come a long way. Once something of a novelty, English wines are now winning international recognition and competing with some of the world`s most established wine regions.
🍷 Wine production has grown closer to home. According to @winegb, Essex is now England`s third-largest county for vineyard area. Who`d have thought we`d have such a thriving wine industry on our doorstep?
But one thing that hasn`t changed is the Shenfield Wine Co. experience, starting with a warm welcome for everyone who walks through our doors!
Whether you`re looking for a special bottle, advice on food pairings or simply fancy trying something different, there`s nothing quite like chatting to someone who really knows their wine.

It`s International Gin and Tonic Day, and whilst we never need an excuse to enjoy a G&T, we do think it`s a very good opportunity to celebrate a little Essex craftsmanship! 🍸
As we approach the 20th anniversary of Shenfield Wine Co, we`re shining a light on some of the producers whose bottles have earned a place on our shelves. And today, we`re keeping things close to home with Tide`s Fortune Essex Dry Gin from @eastcoastdistillery.
Made in small batches on the North Essex coast, Tide`s Fortune uses locally sourced coastal botanicals, including Sea Buckthorn and Sea Purslane, alongside traditional juniper to create a gin that really does have a taste of Essex about it!
With fragrant juniper, bright citrus notes, warming anise and a hint of smokiness, it`s a beautifully balanced dry gin. And given today`s occasion, we`d recommend enjoying it with plenty of ice, a good-quality tonic and a sliver of lemon.
We`ve always believed in supporting independent producers who care about what goes into their bottles, especially when they`re practically on our doorstep!

📣 NEW TASTING ANNOUNCEMENT 📣 From Cork to cask, we invite you to discover a taste of the Atlantic this November. Join us for an evening exploring the whiskies of @clonakiltydistillery, hosted by Global Brand Ambassador Paddy Gilley.
Based on Ireland’s rugged Atlantic coast in County Cork, Clonakilty does things a little differently. Barley is grown on the family farm and locally in Cork, fermentation is extended to develop more flavour, and the spirit is triple distilled before being matured in their warehouse overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, where the coastal conditions play their part in the finished whiskey.
Across the evening, Paddy will guide us through six Clonakilty whiskies, giving us the story behind the distillery, its distinctive approach to whiskey-making and, of course, what to look for in the glass.
Each whiskey will be complemented by a carefully paired tasting board, chosen to bring out the flavours along the way.

Did you know that every bottle on our shelves has been tried and tested by our team before it makes the cut? It`s something we`ve done since we first opened our doors 20 years ago, and it`s a tradition we`re rather proud of!
We believe that to recommend a wine, you need to know it. Not just where it comes from or which grapes go into it, but what it actually tastes like, what makes it special, what it will pair well with and, importantly, whether it`s worth recommending to our customers.
